With it firmly in place, a dream can weather any storm that comes our way and, with support, can handle the little weather patterns when naysayers try to move us off course.

Naysayers are the bain of my existence especially w hen working on a dream. Naysayers are the minor weather patterns in your life and should not create the havoc with your navigational map as a major storm.

That being said, they are often the very people who have the capability of shutting down a dream. These folks are often people we hold dearest in our lives, our children, our significant others, our dearest friends, and even ourselves. Often it starts with an off the cuff comment that becomes a pattern of language over time.

My husband recently threw out a comment that knocked me off my course for a day or so, because it really bummed me out. As a regular reader of my blogs, you might know that my biggest, boldest, most vibrant dream is to live in Dornoch, Scotland. Now it is not all of the year; just when the golf is the best for my husband and the weather is such that I can enjoy touring to scope out places for us to go together. He said, “I need to go to Scotland this year because I don’t think it will be too many years before I can’t go any more to play golf. I am having trouble with the flight and also with scoring the way I expect me to score. I guess I better get it in while I can.”

Now that could have shut the whole dream down. I w as beginning to doubt if this was a dream I should have chosen. What if I was wrong an d it wasn’t all I thought and felt it could be?

This is where having not only a strong vision and great structure, but also a support community is so very important. Having shared my dream with my support community, I went to them with this monkey wrench. They were there to guide me back on track.

Has this ever happened to you? You have a vision and a dream of what the future will be. You have developed the strategic plan to make it happen and someone makes a comment that makes you question your decision.

Because of the work I have done on dreaming and the steps that go into bringing the dream to life, I know how to leverage the support community. I teach the members of my tribe to identify that these types of comments and naysayers might appear. Next, we look at the causes of the comments and what reactions they trigger in each of us. Third, I train you in how to put actions into place to first to prevent t he causes from happening and thus, needing a course correction. Finally, you will learn how to incorporate contingent actions into your plan to reduce the amount of swing off course should the comment be made.

With this type of future planning on things that have not even happened yet, you can insure that staying on course to reach your dream is where you are moving. Remember that the naysayer could be you and it might just be your mindset. If it is you, then your support team is absolutely vital to keep the dream alive!

Because I work with dreamers who have finally chosen to take that dream on, and have spoken to over 300 experts in their field on this subject, I can show you how to plan for the storms that will affect your navigational course.
