What is this resistance to exercise all about? As women, we might have a little dream to get into shape. I say little compared to a big dream of having a million dollar business. There is no reason why that both of those dreams can’t be realized. It still takes the 5 steps in my process to see that happen, but I find with people, not just women, that there is a resistance to actually exercising.

This resistance has many components including the challenge of Step 2 in Charting the Course and in my mindset on exercise itself. The steps to realize the dream were put into my calendar and have priority in the day. In other words, I shouldn’t go to bed until the daily task is completed. In this case, it would be until I actually did the exercises for that day.

However, I skated on this. In the past I have had gym memberships with such renowned places as Linda Evans, 24 Hour Fitness, and the Bay Club. I had good intentions but I probably actually used the facility for maybe 25% of my entire membership. I thought life was different now.

Recently I joined i-Trim. It is both exercise and nutrition coaching. I was doing really well with the nutrition but just couldn’t seem to get to the exercise part. I would put it in my calendar three times a week to get there. The locations are in Lafayette and San Ramon. Not too close but not too far either.

I even made the appointment with myself on days I was going to Lafayette for something else. I seldom stopped. I wasn’t dressed right; I had a meeting that ran over so I was running late; I don’t think their open when it is convenient for me and the classic for me: I don’t feel like it. I personally know and have used probably every excuse in the book not to exercise.

Does any of this sound familiar? My mind found reasons not to go, and I had truly not developed the plan for a dream. Rather I need to give it reasons to find reasons to exercise.

Perhaps, I am still waiting for my fairy  godmother to wave her magic want and poof – my body would be toned. Well, it’s not happening, that I can tell you for sure.

Besides having steps and priority, having support to help with naysayers even if they are just me is so very necessary to realizing the dream. Discover all this magic in my Dare2Dream Workshop.
